Piano

At Skaff Music, piano students are guided through the renowned Faber & Faber curriculum, progressing through levels as their technique, musicianship, and confidence develop. In addition to traditional instruction, students may also explore playing by ear through chord progressions — a popular approach for musicians interested in self-accompaniment while singing and playing simultaneously. Lessons incorporate a wide variety of musical genres and are thoughtfully tailored to each student’s individual interests, goals, and learning style.

Voice

Voice lessons combine classically trained vocal instruction with a highly individualized artistic approach. Whether students are preparing for musical theater, live performance, recording sessions, choir participation, auditions, or simply seeking vocal growth and confidence, lessons are designed to strengthen healthy vocal technique while helping each singer discover their unique sound. Instruction focuses on breath support, resonance, tone development, vocal freedom, expression, and performance technique in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Guitar

Students may study acoustic, electric, or bass guitar in a wide range of musical styles and genres. Lessons can include both classical foundations and contemporary performance techniques, making space for everyone from beginning players to aspiring rock musicians and singer-songwriters. Students develop skills in chord theory, strumming and picking patterns, improvisation, soloing, accompaniment, songwriting, and understanding how the guitar functions within modern music production and live performance.

Strings / Brass / Woodwinds

Private instruction provides students with the opportunity to strengthen technical ability, musicality, and overall confidence on their instrument — often helping them advance well beyond their peers in school band and orchestra programs. Lessons support both current classroom repertoire and individualized solo development while focusing on tone production, technique, musical interpretation, and performance preparation. Instruments currently offered include trombone, trumpet, saxophone, flute, piccolo, violin, and cello.

Percussion

Percussion students explore rhythm, coordination, timing, and musical expression through a variety of instruments and styles. Drum set instruction includes learning grooves, fills, rhythmic combinations, and stylistic patterns that align with the music students enjoy most. Students may also study hand percussion and world percussion instruments including djembe, conga, cajón, tambourine, cabasa, shaker, triangle, and more. Bell kit instruction is also available for students participating in school band programs.
